Wands and smudge fans have been used by indigenous people since before recorded time. Smudge is traditionally sage which is burned to clear away bad spirits (sage has proven antibacterial effects). Sometimes a feather wand or fan would be used to spread and direct the smoke. Wands have been used for ensuring prayers reach the heavens. Birds are considered the link between heaven and earth and their feathers help them to defy gravity. These wands and smudge fan are made from ice age bones, crystals, gem beads, feathers from parrots, pheasant, wild turkey, wild peacock, crow, dove, flicker and blue heron. Special commissions are always welcome.
