At Crystalworks, we encourage people to come to the gallery and experience the large pieces up close and in person. Most of the minerals on display are touchable. Some are in stands that rotate so you can see many views and some are so smooth and inviting it is a really wonderful experience to run your hand over them.

The thrill of introducing someone to world class minerals for the first time is really a pleasure for us. Although people frequently ask if there is a fee to enter we never charge admission to the gallery. There is so much to know about the mineral kingdom and we are still learning ourselves . We love to have  visiting geologists explain formations or chemical compositions. Most of the time, even seasoned geologists are amazed and dazzled by the time they leave.

We have hosted many school groups from kindergartners in small groups to yearly visits from the geosciences class at UBC. (The esteemed Dr. Danner has been sending his students to us for many years.)  As Vancouver lacks a natural history museum, Crystalworks fulfills the niche (however all of our pieces are for sale). The gallery has a broad price range from $1 to over $200,000 which allows anyone who enters to take home a piece of art from our earth.

There is never any obligation to purchase when you make a visit to the gallery and many people use it as a space of quietude and reflection.

Crystalworks has been called an oasis of calm in the hustle and bustle of our busy city.
