We carry fetish carvings by the Zuni Indians, Cochiti Indians, Dan Raven, Marcel Maillet and Karen Lipsett-Kidd. Native peoples of the Americas have used fetishes throughout recorded history. Fetishes are believed to hold magical powers of the animals they represent and to protect the owner or provide assistance in various aspects of day to day life. The fetish carvings that we sell include the traditional style of primitive carving as well as the more elaborate contemporary style of carving.
